Where the information comes from—and how it is handled.

Every public record remains linked to its original publisher. Health One Hub labels missing, delayed, statewide, and experimental data instead of inventing replacements.

Official alerts

Scheduled connectors collect notices from CDC, WHO, NYC Health, and validated state health-department listings. Records are versioned by content hash. New high-risk notices and material changes are held for human review before publication.

Plain-language overview

The site shortens official-source text and applies a limited, rules-based glossary for common jargon. It adds separate audience, action, and uncertainty notes. It does not generate a diagnosis or replace the complete source. High-severity source material remains subject to human review.

Wastewater

WastewaterSCAN measurements are accessed through CDC NWSS data distributed by Carnegie Mellon’s Delphi API. Values are PMMoV-adjusted concentrations multiplied by one million for readability. They are not case counts, are experimental, and should not be compared directly across counties.

Hospital admissions

Weekly confirmed COVID-19, influenza, and RSV hospital admissions come from HHS/CDC NHSN. Rates are statewide per 100,000 residents. When county wastewater coverage is unavailable, the interface clearly labels this statewide fallback.

Affordable health centers

Locations come from the HRSA Health Center Program directory. “Active” means active in that directory; it does not confirm today’s hours, fees, vaccine inventory, or testing availability. Distance ordering is approximate and uses the center of the matching city, ZIP code, or county—not a user’s precise location.

Update and failure policy

Official alerts are refreshed on a schedule, supporting datasets are monitored weekly, and the interface serves the last verified snapshot during temporary source failures. Connector failures, stale records, empty responses, and sharp count changes generate private operational alerts.
